Metadata Makes the World Go 'Round

A digital music library is a beautiful thing, and we believe it should not only sound amazing but look amazing as well. By utilizing the industry's best databases, we make your CD collection sparkle both in your ears and your eyes.

What the heck is metadata?

Metadata is the information attached to each song in your digital library that contains info such as album title, artist, song name, genre, year, composer, and much more. Without metadata, you wouldn't be able to choose what song you wanted to listen to on your computer, iPod, or other device. Without great album artwork, you don't get the tangible experience of seeing what you're listening to, and no one wants a big heap of hard to find, difficult to understand files.

Our metadata rocks.

We believe that being exclusive in a world where no single thing is perfect doesn't make a whole lot of sense. That's why we utilize both the GD3 (Get Digital Data) and AMG (All Music Guide) databases when converting your CDs under our Premiere and Luxury services. These professional, paid databases are used throughout the music and media industry. This ensures that your CDs come back to you with the most complete information available, allowing you to enjoy your collection like never before. What happens when your CD information isn't in the database? We hand-tag it with as much data as we can find, then submit it back to the database so that the next person can benefit from it.

When you order our Standard ripping service, you're CDs are getting the same care as with the Premiere and Luxury services, but we'll pull metadata from the FreeDB and Gracenote databases. These are the same databases that Apple uses when you rip a CD with iTunes, so you know you're getting a quality product.
