The audio format we convert your CDs to determines both the quality of your audio and the size of the file. For great sounding portable files, choose MP3. For perfect CD quality audio, choose a lossless format like FLAC. We recommend MP3 for portability and compatibility and FLAC for lossless audio.
Bitrate is easy - the higher the bitrate, the larger the file size, the better the sound quality. 192 kbps is great for MP3 and AAC files to go on an iPod or phone, and 320 kbps is great for both portable devices and home audio systems. Lossless formats don't need a bitrate - easy!
A second format is great so you can have a high quality, lossless format for your computer and home and a smaller format for your portable needs

We'll insure your discs for $12 each for both legs of their journey to and from our facility. Note: This is HIGHLY recommended. Ripstyles is not responsible for damage incurred to your CDs when in transit in the event you do not purchase insurance.
We use only the finest Western Digital external USB 2.0 drives. We're also happy to load almost any USB, Firewire, or Ethernet device you can come up with - just make sure you have enough empty space on it!

Note: If sending us only an iPod or other media player, your collection will be loaded onto the device as a storage disk only and will not play until you copy your music to your personal computer and re-sync your iPod. We highly recommend you send or purchase a hard drive in addition to sending your iPod.
